Important reminder to all nominees

Just three weeks into the awards and already over 80 IP addresses have been flagged recording an unusual number of multiple entries.

19 July 2017: Whilst there are probably legitimate reasons for many ot these, nominees should be aware that the identified IP addresses will be subject to additional scrutinity when voting closes 30th September 2017. Where conspicuous abuse is evident companies will be disqualified. For lesser infringements, votes that cannot be substantiated by the company will be excluded from the final total.

In case you failed to read the "Nominee Do's and Don'ts" page published on the nomination website between 1st April and 2nd July 2017 here is a helpful reminder.

DO PROMOTE the British Travel Awards Voter's Prize Draw as an incentive for consumer participation. e.g. “Vote in the British Travel Awards for your chance to win a great prize.”

DO LOBBY your customers to vote using whatever communication channels are available to you.

DO CONSIDER becoming a Voter's Prize Draw Partner and enjoy increased visibility and engagement via our media partners’ consumer promotions throughout the voting cycle.
For details contact:

DO INVITE your guests or visitors to personally vote online from a common access point (see security software*) at your place of business. e.g. Travel agency branches, guest/visitor receptions, customer facing environments etc.

DO ENCOURAGE your staff to vote.

Employees are considered as consumers of leisure travel products and services. Preferably they should access the internet from their home address (i.e. not from a common IP address or company network) and register as an individual using their personal email address.

DON'T SUGGEST in any communications that entry into the British Travel Awards Voter Prize Draw is subject to voting for your company. e.g. You cannot say; “Vote for us [company] for your chance to win a great prize”.

DON'T OFFER an independent prize or incentive, conditional upon or associated with, voting for a specific company or brand in the British Travel Awards.

The above actions contravene British Travel Awards rules and you could fall foul of the Bribery Act. Any companies that are found to disregard these rules will be disqualified, their votes excluded from the final count and their registration fee  forfeited.

* DON'T ENGAGE in third party or proxy voting.

* DON'T ENCOURAGE staff to vote from their place of work.

* Our security software will flag multiple entries from a common IP address for review. These records will be subject to further scrutiny using predictive entry algorithms to validate. Reports will be submitted to Deloitte who will make a final ruling on their eligibility.
