When it comes to Winning an Award Size Isn’t Everything!

26 Aug 2019: The British Travel Awards 2019 features 84 categories encompassing a comprehensive range of accreditations for companies and UK attractions operating in the leisure travel market. To recognise the achievements of SME’s 39 awards are graded by size.

 

As can be attested by past results and the #voteBTA19 week 8 leaderboard, it is the companies who engage with, and actively lobby their customers who glean the awards… And, the most prestigious accolade for medium and small companies “Overall Winner” in category.

 

Company size criteria is determined by award category.

How the Award Accreditations are Determined

If a small company polls the highest number of overall category votes:

OVERALL CATEGORY WINNER

  • Winner - large, Silver - large, Bronze - large
  • Winner - medium, Silver - medium, Bronze - medium
  • Silver - small, Bronze - small

If a large company polls the highest number of overall category votes:

  • Winner - large, Silver - large, Bronze - large
  • Winner - medium, Silver - medium, Bronze - medium
  • Winner - small, Silver - small, Bronze - small

If a medium company polls the highest number of overall category votes:

OVERALL CATEGORY WINNER

  • Winner - large, Silver - large, Bronze - large
  • Silver - medium, Bronze - medium
  • Winner - small, Silver - small, Bronze - small

Open award categories (no size grading applied)

  • In these categories results are based solely on the number of votes cast

A company’s size is not displayed on the voting form and voters can only vote for one company/brand in each category. Companies are divided into the size group submitted on their nomination form when the results are analysed.
