10 days until #voteBTA16 consumer voting closes

Detailed information on voting status is embargoed until the results are announced at the Gala Awards Night 23rd November 2016.

Last Wednesday 14-Sep we reached out via e-newsletter to our subscribed past voters. Their response was fantastic, realising a 70% increase in the number of voters and 151% increase in the number of votes cast when compared to the average weekly returns.

Their input has resulted in a number of positional changes across many award categories since 29-Aug (the last interim leaderboard of the year) was published. This promises to make the Britsh Travel Awards Gala on 23-Nov 2016 an evening of surprises and celebration when the final results are announced.

Trinity Mirror will continue to promote consumer voting with a further eight advertisements across their national newspapers and 12 inserts in their regional titles right up until the last day of voting on 30-Sep.

Made Television will continue broadcasting promo clips throughout their schedule and encourage their viewers to vote via social media.

Now is the time for nominees to make a final concerted effort to lobby votes from their customers. It is apparent that a number of nominees are either "keeping their powder dry" for a last minute push or believe sufficient votes will come to them without any customer engagement on their part. Currently the later is proving not to be the case!

In some categories a few companies are realising a disporportionately high number of votes when compared to their competition. But, in the great majority of categories it is still anyones game with the difference between 1st and 3rd place less than 300 votes.

Today we will surpass last year's record breaking 254,000 voters. On Monday 26-Sep our Twitter account @BritTravAwrds will show the number of registered voters and total number of votes cast.

Voting close at 23:59 on Friday 30th September. The voting database will then be submitted to Deloitte for review and verification. Their ruling will be final and once they have signed-off the results work starts in earnest on the awards night production. This year's theme will be "Carnivale" so dust off the sequins and polish up the sparkle for the travel industry's go-to event of the year!

Tickets for the event can be booked online:
