11 May 2017: Airline awards have been re-introduced in the 2017 British Travel Awards (BTAs), with a choice of three award categories - Best European Airline, Best Transatlantic Airline and Best Eastbound Longhaul Airline. Airlines can register to be included as a nominee on the consumer facing voting form, with no charge until 31 May.
All BTA nominated airlines can expect to receive considerable exposure during the voting process and pre and post Awards night, with additional publicity for the winners, as voted for by the travelling public.
Simply being listed on the voting form puts the nominated companies infront of the BTA voter - last year a massive 1,332,516 votes and opinions were cast in the voting period to determine the winners.
In addition print and online media partner Trinity Mirror, which publishes the Daily and Sunday Mirror, The People and numerous regional publications, publishes weekly ads and editorial updates on travel companies associated with the awards.
Regional TV company Made TV will be broadcasting across it’s whole city network a special one-hour programme filmed at the Gala Awards’ Night, featuring winners and interviews with travel people.
BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “It’s now ten years since the BTAs became the largest consumer voted awards in travel. Our core values of integrity, transparency and credibility have made the BTAs the most recognised and valued awards programme for both the travel industry and the all-important voting consumers. Our continued development of rigorous vote collection procedures are enhanced year on year via our partnership with awards verification partners and scrutineers, Deloitte.
“All the eventual BTA winners, sponsors, partners and nominees can be confident that their brands are associated with the most highly respected travel awards programme in the world! Airlines are now invited to be included again in the BTAs and receive the recognition of their loyal customers.”
