Companies that consider applying for listing on this year’s consumer voting form can now make informed decisions on which categories to enter. And, determine the level of customer engagement required to walk away with a BTA trophy on 29th November.
From review of previous year's results in the graded categories, it is evident that size really isn't everything! Last year medium and small size companies polled the most overall votes in:
Best Luxury Holiday Company, Best Weddings & Honeymoon Holiday Company, Best Activity/Sports Holiday Company, Best Escorted Adventure Holiday Company, Best Safari, Wildlife & Nature Holiday Company, Best Holiday Company to East & Southest Europe, Best Holiday Company to Central & South America, Best Holiday Company to Sub-Saharan Africa, Best Holiday Company to North Africa, Best Holiday Company to the Middle East, Best Holiday Company to Australasia, Best Holiday Company to Southeast Asia, Best Holiday Company to East & Central Asia, and Best Holiday Company to the Indian Ocean.
In 2017 we are recognising the endeavours of these SMEs with the introduction of a new award designation across the size graded categories Overall Winner.
Browse the 2016 award categories and it becomes evident the companies that have recognised the prestige associated with being a British Travel Awards winner and its benefiit as a consumer influencer. Whilst the majority of award categories were a closely fought competition - where one extra email lobbying for customer votes could have made a difference to the results - in the categories with winners by a significant margin; comparable companies will really have to step up to the plate in 2017 to challenge the 2016 title holders.
