One night of celebration... One year in the making!

February - May

  • Companies are invited to submit their brands for listing in their elected categories on the consumer voting form
  • Previous winners and contenders are contacted and asked if they wish to be nominated this year.
  • Press releases are circulated to travel trade media inviting companies to nominate.
  • Nomination details and how to apply posted on LinkedIn
  • Trade media partner - TravelMole announce that nominations are open across their online newsletters.
  • Travel trade social media engagement via @BritTravAwards
  • Nomination applications are checked to confirm they meet the awards criteria and appropriate positioning within the categories.
  • BTA promotional assets are distributed to successful nominees after receipt of their remittance.

June - September

 

The consumer voting cycle opens with the online voting form published on britishtravelawards.com and activation of the nominee’s direct voting apps.

 

Up to five sponsored e-newsletters are sent to over 400,000 past consumer voters; inviting them to participate, with updates on the awards and featuring contents of the prize draw incentive. Our GDPR confirmed subscribed past voters are not shared or sold to any third parties. E-newsletter sponsorship enables sponsor to directly engage with our audience of regular travel consumers.

National media partner Reach PLC encourage their readership to vote with our “Vote to Win” promotion - via editorial columns, advertisement inserts and online content across their flagship titles, regional newspapers and companion websites.

Nominees lobby their customers for votes via their websites, communication channels and news articles submitted by them to media outlets.

 

October - November

 

Voting closes at 23:59 on the date detailed on our main website. Any votes recorded after that time will not be included in the final count.

 

Throughout the voting cycle our ‘checks and balances’ algorithms scan the voter database searching for voting anomalies. Possible incidents are flagged and reports generated when voting has closed for review by the British Travel Awards Panel.

 

Once the results have been determined production of the trophies commences. The top companies are contacted and invited to attend the BTA Awards Presentation Ceremony.

 

November Gala Awards Night

 

We’ll be accrediting those companies who have been recognised by the holiday buying public as the best at their business. And, give guests the opportunity to take a well-deserved ‘time-out’ from the daily challenges of delivering excellent customer satisfaction
